A small grassroots organization, LandChoices, began its nonprofit journey as a group of four dedicated members: the founder, Kirt Manecke, and three of his friends. In determining their fundraising strategy, Manecke and his band of supporters decided to incorporate online fundraising into the mix by using Network for Good's Custom DonateNow.

Since LandChoice's implementation of Custom DonateNow and the complementary training from Network for Good's Learning Center at www.fundraising123.org, the organization has experienced consistent revenue growth: revenue doubled from 2005 to 2006, and increased by more than 50% from 2006 to 2007. Manecke credits Network for Good's "excellent training and classes" for reaching those numbers, building LandChoice's new website and guiding the organization's webmaster in the right direction.

LandChoices' member base has grown as well--up from four to 65. "I can tell you that the NFG training has been critically important in helping us grow," Manecke said. "It may not sound like many, but when you are sitting here with bills to pay, I thank goodness for those 65 donors."

Manecke plans to promote the benefits of online fundraising to his members when he launches a direct mail campaign in the spring. These are a few of the points he plans to share with his ever-growing base of supporters:

Though he recognizes that they're "just getting started" in the world of online fundraising and it will take awhile to get rolling, he is optimistic about future growth and opportunities with the help of Network for Good.
